Wellness & About

Life is most definitely NOT an easy road.

I worked two jobs for MANY, many years to support my family, along with teaching myself couponing skills to help save financially. Without couponing, I would not have been able to put food on the table, pay bills, etc.

However, at the end of 2015, after a decade of hard work and effort, a huge relocation and job change, the life I had come to know and had so diligently and excitingly been planning, came crashing down. My first marriage was over. Just like that. My exhusband left me and our 3 children. No matter how many tears I cried. No matter how much I wanted our marriage to work. As more and more details of his true being came into light, I sank deeper and deeper into darkness.
I hit rock bottom.

My hopes. My dreams. My kids.....oh, my kids.
(Yep, the tears are now falling as I type this.)

I fell into massive depression and my anxiety hit an all-time high. I was devastated. I was dying from the inside out. (If you have ever gone through divorce, you very likely know what I mean.)

After months of barely getting through each day, not eating well, I realized I HAD to make a change. I HAD to make a change for my kids. My kids NEEDED their mommy. They needed me to be well.

I poured my heart into my faith. I knew God had gotten me through so many struggles in the past, I knew, no matter how devastated I felt, God had a plan. God had something greater planned for my life. Scripture got me through SO much. Scripture held me together.

I also knew that I needed something positive to keep my mind off the pain. Although I had been an athlete my entire life, I had not been taking care of my body. I had been placing myself very last throughout everything in my life.

It was time to place emphasis on myself. I was doing this for my kids. They had lost one parent. The last thing they deserved was to lose both.

And so my health journey began, which leads me to where I am today. It's seriously crazy and AMAZING how God's plan works. I even met my current husband, Adam, through both my faith and fitness journeys.

My experiences may not relate to everyone, but if by chance they relate to you and you would like to learn more about overcoming and reaching goals, or possibly just chat, I'd love to hear from you. :)
